I'm getting better at it.. but uphill, definitely pretty slow :) I need to remember my inhaler though. Today, I wasn't sore from yesterday's hike which is an improvement from last week. In the last 7 days I've hiked 5 times. Today's hike was to Fremont Older Open Space Preserve. I somewhat followed this route: http://www.bahiker.com/southbayhikes/fremontolder.html
I say somewhat, as I wasn't paying attention when I wrote directions, and apparently it does tell you to use a fireroad at one point. In the short directions it doesn't have that step. :) It was a 3.2 mile hike that I finished in an hour and a half. It is definitely a rollercoaster of a hike, starting uphill for the first .4 miles. (this made the last .4 miles a breeze on the way back :D)
Starting up the Cora Older Trail...
This was definitely a fun hike. It had a great view over the cities of Cupertino/Sunnyvale/Mountain View. It was strange as it felt like you were right above the cities closer than some of the other wide ranging views I've had. This is probably as it was closer, and not as high :)
The Bay area just has a ton of outdoor activities to explore, and I feel very privileged to have these places to go. I wonder if these places will still exist in the next 3-4 years as the economy tightens :( I hope so.
